Proposition One

Death Is on the Ballot

For nearly fifty years, Idaho lived under Roe v. Wade. About 2,200 Idaho babies were aborted every year — 98,000 in all.

In 2022, after decades of faithful prayer, that ended. Idaho’s Defense of Life Act took effect — and it is working. Babies are protected. Mothers are protected.

Prop One would repeal it. If it passes, the carnage resumes.

God set us free from the bondage of Roe. Now we are being asked to voluntarily take up those shackles… and place them again on the ankles of our children and grandchildren.

Prop One is about much more than abortion. It is about what kind of people we will be — what kind of society we will create and leave to our heirs.

What Prop One’s Backers Aren’t Telling You

They say: “Idaho has a total abortion ban.”
The truth: Idaho law allows abortion in cases of rape and incest, and whenever a mother’s life is threatened — including ectopic pregnancy. Doctors simply must treat the baby as a second patient. Abortion is the last resort, not the first.
They say: “Doctors are being prosecuted.”
The truth: In four years, not one Idaho doctor has been prosecuted. Not one has been sued. Not one complaint has even been filed with the Board of Medicine.
They say: “Doctors are fleeing Idaho.”
The truth: Idaho has had a net increase in licensed OBs since 2022 — and maternal mortality has declined.

A Note from Pastor [Name]

Dear [Church Name] family,

On November 3, Idahoans will vote on Proposition One, and you’re going to hear a great deal about it in the coming weeks — so let me speak plainly. Prop One would repeal Idaho’s Defense of Life Act, the law that since 2022 has protected roughly 2,200 unborn children a year in our state. Its supporters describe it as a modest fix for doctors and mothers in hard cases. But Idaho law already allows care whenever a mother’s life is at risk, and in four years not one Idaho physician has been prosecuted under it. What Prop One actually does is return us to the fifty years we lived under Roe. Scripture says God sets before us life and death and asks us to choose life (Deuteronomy 30:19). That choice is now, quite literally, on our ballot.

So here is what I’m asking of you. First, pray — for Idaho, for women facing frightening pregnancies, and for neighbors who see this differently than we do. Second, get informed: our friends at Idaho Chooses Life have made a short video answering the claims you’ll hear in the ads, and I’d encourage you to watch it and pass it along. Third, vote NO on Prop One on Tuesday, November 3, and bring someone with you — if you’re not registered, Idaho lets you register at the polls with photo ID and proof of address. This isn’t about politics for me. It’s about who we are as a people and what we hand to our children. Let’s be a church that chooses life.

Grace and peace,
Pastor [Name]
